Something from nature that is not a plant

I've always heard that having something from nature in your living room is a good idea. Lately I am thinking that my small ugly cat isn't cutting it. I cant have a plant either because I try to block out all sunlight from entering unless guests are over.

I would like to get a scholar's rock. I cant think of much else. Any ideas?

get one of these, you can use cool white fluorecent lights instead of sunlight.

just place a boulder in the middle of your living room, will make an interesting conversation piece..

I'm not arguing with you, but what does this mean? Why is it a good idea?

So it doesn't look too sterile.

My mother told me that when she was a little girl her priest had his sister send him boxes of Spanish moss from their family home in Mississippi. He would put it on the book shelf in his office.

You and your fear of light and your small, ugly cat might enjoy a fresh corpse laid out on the dining table.

without sunlight I think your only real option is fungus cultivation

I like scholar's stones, but they won't make the room warmer.
