While I am an avid fan, I admit major disappointments with the direction of this series. Season One hooked us all with the tag line "Save the cheerleader--save the world." I actually had Heroes party night during this season.
Season Two was a MAJOR disappointment, notwithstanding the issues with the strike and them only playing 11 out of the scheduled 24 episodes. The twins Maya and Alejandro were an absolute total waste of time. They contributed absolutely nothing to the show, but rather, were quite successful into scaring my friend's baby girl when Maya's eyes would turn black.
Season Three isn't nearly as bad as Season Two, but it seems to aimlessly wander at times. With the constant introduction of new heroes and villains, it just complicates the storyline too much. Whatever happened to "Save the cheerleader, save the world"? That was originally all it took to make a good story, but now they have to complicate things and try to see how many new characters they can cram into one episode.
I have no idea how much longer this show will last, but I hope they improve it before it ends.
(Don't even get me started on my other soapbox about the Prison Break series!)
