Even if you don't practice law, a law degree can open a large number of doors for you that would not otherwise be opened. Get the law degree. i wish I had pursued that path or Med school.

Explain which doors a law degree can open for you that a targeted graduate degree (MBA, Master's in Finance, Master's in Accounting, Master's in Information Systems, Master's in Social Work, Master's in Mechanical Engineering, etc.) cannot. These degrees cost far less money, less time, and will have (generally) recruiters targeting them specifically, versus a law degree holder that will have to pound dirt trying to convince people that they are smart and can do the job over these other degree holders.

Mathematics. Wasn't very good at it (relative to my classmates...probably better than 95% of the population, though that fact didn't matter). In an ideal world I would've been an English or Philosophy major, since critical analysis and writing have always been my strong suits, but I wanted to be employable and thought math sounded badass. Also, I just didn't want to actually write all that much, especially since I was spending 20-50 hours a week as a writer and editor at my college's daily paper.

Even if once true, it is *definitely* no longer true, UNLESS you go to Yale, Harvard, or Stanford. This is a misleading sentiment.

and this is a defeatist attitude that will be a larger detriment to your employability than your degree.
