Been there. Great coffee. In downtown Toronto, I love Dark Horse. EDIT: Is everyone on this site that's from Ontario, from Oakville? It'd explain a lot...

I'm next door to Oakville in Burlington, though my parents still live in Oakville. Was born in Goderich.

Anyone got anything in the financial district? Spadina is a little far to walk for coffee.

I constantly read about great little places serving espresso in hip gentrified areas.

The financial core is stacked with people willing to pay $5 for an espresso marginally better then starbucks. Someone needs to get on this.

The blogto link above is an excellent guide to the uptown coffee joints. I've had absolutely delicious macciatto at Manic (College & Bathurst), and I'm sure their espresso is just as good. In Kensington, I'd suggest a place on Augusta adjacent to the burrito joint. For Turkish coffee, check out Moma's (sp?) -- a middle-eastern resto on Harbord a block west of Spadina.

Sam James on Harbord is my new favourite... and he just opened a second location, 'Coffee Pocket', at Bloor & Clinton.

Doesn't exist. I just forego good coffee during the week.

What are your favorite places in the financial district for espresso? I just give up and go to Starbucks because I don't know *anywhere* else to go. It's pretty much Second Cup, Tims or Starbucks.

Manic Coffee is good. I don't like that they won't make a lungo though, wtf. Momo's is the place on Harbord (close to Splendido). Didn't know they have Turkish coffee, will check it out. Bar Mercurio on Bloor/St George is decent, but overpriced.
