What are some good sweaters for someone like myself. Specific sweaters, not just places to get them.. I've looked through a few stores, and am at a loss for what to pick.

Thanks!

Stats:

America. college. New York. Very cold.

20. 6'1". 160lbs. skinny. african american.

chest: measures 40", wear a 42", look best in a 44" jacket.
waist: measures 32", wear a 33-34"

Given your build, you'll want to make sure that the sweaters are pretty slim-fitting. Beyond that, the options are pretty wide. How would you characterize your usual dress/style?

ED: Why do you think you look best in a 44" (i.e. size 42R) jacket if your chest measures 40"?

Because I do. And its a 44XL.. my arms are unreasonably long for my height.

I go to the store to get suits, and I always begin with a 39R that an attendant is trying to fit me into, and everything looks/feels wrong until I hit a 44. The 44 size really only works for jackets (suits), though, because with winter coats or any form of shirt, a 42 works most effectively.

Can you please give me some good, simple, fashionable, trendy sweater suggestions?

in grey.

Check out H&M. Solids are always a solid bet. I think that orange sweaters look really good on black guys. Argyles are cool too. Cardigans can be awesome if you can pull it off. Honestly, provided the fit is good, it's hard to go wrong with sweaters as long as you avoid extremely loud colors.

I dislike Banana sweaters. Those models are extremely fit, and yet you can barely tell through the clothes. Almost everything the cut, weave, or make is precision crafted to turn you into a rectange.

Are you the same guy that insists on wearing t-shirts with sleeves that go down past your elbows?

Yeah, all the way down to my wrists, in fact.

Just size down one or two, the sweaters are usually not too bad. Though for the same price range and style, I prefer RL Polo.

I am not good at this.. that's why I'm asking for help, lol.

But all I hear is what I'm doing wrong, not what I should do, where I should look, or what I should look for to realize my compromise.

Asking for help is frustrating.. god damn it!

Most of these are fine, just not fitted well. It would help if we had any idea what you like.

Ok, I'm not sure how much you want to spend but this APC sweater is really nice and the white and black stripe look is very popular in Europe, or at least in Finland, right now go to: http://www.azaleaonline.com/apcmknty169.html to purchase

I think that this is like the third time I've posted this sweater, it might be time for me to find something else. It's really not my fault though because 75% of the people i see are wearing this style. Its been embeded into my mind BTW, I'm curious as to why you think those sleeves are too short. I find the alternative look to be far too sloppy.

There is also this APC sweater/cardigan that was sent out in an e-mail this afternoon: http://www.apc.fr/us/en/fiche_articl...2H&nextcolor=1 It reminds me a bit of the Trovata Defarkas hoodie, except with subtler details and no hood. I personally prefer this sweater...looks pretty darn warm as well. Oh, and I'm going to guess that what APC really meant by "web specials" was "web exclusives", because I sure wouldn't consider $334 a very special price.
