For what must be the fourth/fifth year in a row, I've told everyone who gets me gifts: "no gifts. If you want to give me something, give me $10. I don't want or need any more stuff but could actually use money."

So instead I got...stuff. Totaling more than $10.

I got some neat socks, those whiskey on the rocks stones (which I was thinking about buying) a book I didn't buy and then couldn't find (Brothels of Nevada), and a really cool model ship to add to my collection, among some other things. They're nice gifts but its like, I don't need this stuff. I don't have any place to put it really. But more importantly, did you just not listen to what I asked for? I mean, this is now becoming rant-y but if I tell you I don't want or need anything, save your money, please and you don't it's like....you're not even following the adage of the thought that counts. Argh.

The only thing of note is a trip to Vancouver.

50% ownership in a sous vide machine and an industrial level food sealer.
Some Frenchie (Freedom) wine
New crystal decanter (I'll break it eventually)

Best gift: the cat is with us for one last Xmas. Woke up this morning to find her cuddled between us.

Vet thought she would be dead months ago. I'm giving her end of January at this point...although I thought she was a goner around Thanksgiving. Seems like she's on her own schedule.
