Meals that last a whole week

It seems a lot of poasters will make large batches of meals on the weekends and then refrigerate/freeze and eat throughout the week. I like this idea and would be interested in some of the recipes used. Thx!

i like doing a braised meat (chuck or pork shoulder or chicken thighs) in stock, red wine, canned tomatoes, carrots, celery, onion, herb stems, bay leaf, and do like 5, 6 pounds at a time. lasts me 5 ish days. add a few cans of tomato paste if you want to make it thicker to eat with pasta i use leftover sauce to make a meat pizza with a quick dough made with a kitchen aid. it's just stretched out pizza dough, leftover sauce, some mozzarella, salami or soprasetta sometimes i take out the wine, add in beans, random spices, a cinammon stick and 5, 6 pounds of ground beef for chili. you can sautee the veg in bacon or some pork product (like sausage, bacon, pancetta, chorizo, proscitto, w/e) steam a few pounds of brocolli or buy a big bag of greens, chop up some vegetables for salads, and eat the same thing for a week.

You can use dried or canned beans. Start by soaking the dried beans the night before, then rinse them.

Get a crock pot (aka slow cooker)

Chop some onions

Put the onions in your crock pot.

Chop some garlic.

Put the garlic in your crock pot.

Put the beans in your crock pot.

Chop up some meat.

Add the meat to your crock pot.

You can use chopped fresh tomatoes, or use canned ones.

Add some salt.

Some pepper

Some other seasonings (your discretion)

Add some molasses.

Put on low for 10 hours .

Put in some fresh chopped cherry tomatoes at the last minute.

Also, some corn would be nice (not pictured).

Enjoy with cornbread.

You'll need all this stuff.

Start by browning the meat.

Add some sauce to the meat.

In a separate bowl, combine cheese and egg.

Add some seasonings.

Boil some lasagna sheets

Then start layering in your lasagna pan.

Heat your oven.

Cover with foil to start.

Take off the foil for a little bit at the end to brown the cheese on top.

Eat.

why do americans seem to exclusively use kosher salt?

even Ruhlmans Charcuterie book calls for kosher salt in ever recipe.
