We have 4 birthdays, Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years in a 30 day period. By the time NYE comes around we are quite happy to have a nice simple meal at home with maybe another couple and a great bottle of champagne.

We did stay in San Francisco at a downtown hotel 2 years ago. That was fun. But we have been in a few hotels lately so being home in bed will be enjoyable.

Cooking a good meal with the girlfriend before heading out to a friend's place for the ball drop.

Will probably open an Owen Roe 2007 Yakima Valley Merlot/Cab Franc/ Cab Sauv with dinner. Trying to decide between either a sparkler from Argyle (Willamette) or one of these grower champagnes that all you kids are talking about for later in the evening.

I will be doing the same thing I've done for a decade or so. Palm Springs, in bed by 11.

I started texting in '09. Got serious about it in '10. Probably sent 50 texts this year.

Were you kids doing it? No keyboards at the time, just the telephone keypad. Berry Messenger was what Mrs. Piob and I used since about 07 but we moved to texts now that we both have Androids.

We started texting at work pretty seriously this year. With the advent of threaded texting it can be helpful in holding a conversation about something.
