Netflix instant movie suggestions - Page 8

I have been watching The X-Files. I can't believe how much I didn't get being so young the first time I watched it.

Was going to go with battlestar galactica but a coworker warned me it turns downhill about halfway through and I'd be disappointed. Confirm/deny?

+1 on the Rescue Me series. Although, I don't think they have the previous season up, yet. And the Final season starts in July. Great show.

And like patrckBOOTH, would recommend X-Files. Entire series is up. But the last couple seasons take a different pace and aren't universally liked as the previous seasons.

Good suggestions but I've already seen all those.

Twin Peaks now on instant. It's going to be very hard to restrain myself...

If anyone is still unaquainted with the show, do youself a favor and start watching.

Heard it started out good but got shitty. Is it actually worth watching?

It's true, unfortunately. Watch the first dozen episodes, until you find out who the killer is. I have no idea why they revealed the killer so soon, but after that Lynch and Frost basically abandoned the series and it turned to shit until the last 2 or 3 episodes when Lynch came back.

But in the good episodes, there are sequences that are unlike anything else Ive ever seen on television. It's hard to believe Twin Peaks was a mainstream network hit in the 90s. After The Wire, I think it's the best TV show of all time.

The show gets better and better as the seasons go on. The series finale is an amazing piece of work.

Started watching it, and finding it difficult to continue watching. Something about the music always being played in the background in the majority of scenes with little ambient sound. And some of the acting....

Maybe it's a generational issue with me.

The first season of Twin Peaks is definitely the most unique thing ever to appear on US broadcast tv. There are parts of season 2 where I can't help but think the writers are fucking with us. Especially the extended subplot about James and the cheap little Body Heat scenario he gets into.

Just watched this. Brought back a lot of memories of what I have seen when I used to live in China. The Mao's ideologies destroyed so many lives. The country is desperately trying to move in a different direction, but it's leaving so many people behind.

What people don't realize is that what's depicted in movie is what 70% to 80% of China is, not the glamorous images of Shanghai or Beijing.

maybe mentioned already but a bunch of Kurosawa movies are available instantly until 6.21. saw Seven Samurais last night and have Rashomon and Yojimbo in my instant queue.
