And then you also have a lot of resellers there too. The entire PF is fodder for some book about the power of registered trademarks. Amusing and somewhat pathetic at the same time.
p.s. but don't kid yourself....it's not only the Asians.

You sound like a bitch that:
a) hates counterfeits
b) discriminates against the mass affluent who unwisely spend their discretionary income on high end goods.

a) Yes, I HATE counterfeits. FYI: they are illegal and they fund terrorism and other nefarious activities.
b) I was hardly talking about "the mass affluent". Perhaps you should re-read my post.

Can Hermes make a LV bag in 18 months?

Regards.

I can't tell if you're serious or just severely retarded.

I must be severely retarded. Thank you, doctor. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/12/business/worldbusiness/12iht-fake.4569452.html (and there are dozens of other similar articles, in reputable publications, like that one)

Exact details confirmed: a Fleming wallet in Laurier Evergrain. I'm pretty sure that means "a breast wallet in dark green pebble-grain leather." Someone confirm?

All kidding aside, I'd have to say the customer service is ultimately pretty decent. I'm still amused by the initial confusion, but clearly all the reports of needing to build a 'relationship' before earning the right to request a special order are ridiculous. Kudos to Hermes, and a scornful head-shaking at all the Hermes-buying snobs trying to cloak themselves in exclusivity.

Do you think they would sell one to me? Can you arrange an introduction?

I haven't seen the colour Laurier yet; but I was told it is a dark green like a Laurel leaf. I ordered a Birkin in Laurier Evergrain, and because it is a new colour it may be a while before it arrives in the store. Evergrain is a fairly smooth leather which I don't consider pebbled really; although it has an obvious grain. I think the Fleming is the model of 'breast' wallet I bought. I'll try and check. The dimensions when closed are close to 3 1/2" wide x almost 7" long. It will hold 5 credit cards and has 4 bill slots. Evergrain is mainly used for mens wallets and Laurier is not a Special Order colour. It was available for order by the boutiques at the last Podium. IMO Evergrain is the nicest leather, and looks better as it wears. Sorry one photo loaded twice. Attachment 57399

Out of curiosity, what is the current starting price for a Birkin bag?

Depends on numerous factors: size, leather, place of purchase. But generally speaking, an "entry level" Birkin is in the $10,000. range.

If you don't mind my asking, what is that surface on which you photographed the wallet? The crackly surface...
