On this forum, not a bad assumption (or at least many would lie about it), but yeah, for the huge majority of Americans $10k is a huge amount of money.
kind of into the mokume style of setting and the craft behind it though not sure how my lady would react. Shes not a conventional girl doesnt wear big brand names, and works in the creative field so something should reflect that. Also, Im in LA would it be cost effective to buy loose at jewlery district and then take it to an artist?
