Various things:
You don't want the black CT chelseas as they are made of plasticky corrected grain leather.
The brown ones are probably still too dressy for an outfit like you described. Maybe if you beat the bejesus out of them first, and added the rubber Topys to them. But they are still somewhat... elegant and don't look too great IMO with wider jeans. They look better with my APCNS than my Uniqlos.
The waxy Loake chelseas might be a better option, or suede or something.
But what you should really get for this sort of use, IMO, is a pair of Tricker's tan or brown brogue boots with Dainite soles. Barring that, check out the Frye Brando boots and the other ones in the same brown leather. Black boots with jeans... eh. I have some Red Wing engineer boots and I never wear them anymore. It's a bit too Village Peopley for me. (Esp. with my moto jacket, etc.)
