The salesman suggested I get them a little tight as they would/could stretch up to two inches in the waist. They're already taking to the shape of my body/badonkadonk so I'm definitely pleased. Thanks for everyone's help!

i thought olas had a really low rise and tight backside ??

They do have a lower rise...the backside and thighs were really tight the day I bought them but are already stretching nicely. Maybe my seat isn't as prominent as I thought it was?

Well...now that I've worn them for a while...I'm afraid the Olas aren't really working out for me. I thought they would keep stretching but they haven't. They have, however, started to demonstrate the problems I usually have with lower-rise jeans...showing the top of my 'seat' when I sit down. It's ridiculous. I feel like a girl. I haven't washed them yet so I'll probably try to sell them via the forum or ebay.

I've decided to look in the next few weeks for dark blue, preshrunk, regular rise jeans. I don't care enough about jeans to dilligently wear them everyday for six months before I wash them for the first time (which is what you're supposed to do with raw denim).

So if I were you I would just try as many pairs on as possible...that's what I plan to do from now on.

Very good choice.

Now that I read the rest of the thread, I see you changed your mind.... I'd try the Canes if I were you.

I might still do that. I'll have to see what I can find locally first.

Let me know, because I grew up in ATL and I'm down there a lot.

I like the fit of 550s and i wish levi's made a raw version.
