The toes seem abnormally square. I would pass on that fact alone. Then again, $30 for some beater shoes you could wear in the rain or something, it isn't a bad deal.

I doubt the toes are really square like that. I have the Mcallister model in a C width and it is a sleek point.

They seem pretty beat up for a starting bid of 20, especially for a narrow width. I notice that the narrow widths sell for much less than D because I assume most people just don't know anything other than D "medium" or about lasts. If you can get them for 20 bucks hoping no ones bids, I'd support the purchase.

Actually, it's $20 flat. It's a buy-it-now auction. And if I were a size 8, I'd pick them up immediately. At the absolute worst, you'll get a great pair of storm shoes that will last you a decade or longer. Slap some polish and elbow grease, and I'm sure you can minimize that scuff on the heel. But, the bottom line is, these have quite a nice patina. My vote: Buy. Of course, à chacun son goût.

since we are on the topic of purchasing B-widthed shoes. i got a pair and i was wondering realistically, how much can i expect a cobler to widen them?
