The prints are interesting and intricate, but they're riding fair isle into the ground. I'm jonesing for some pieces (blue-trimmed cardigan, one of the gore-tex parkas, some accessories) but some of the appeal is in the inaccessibility--will be interesting to see who picks them up for retail in the US and what the prices are like.
The model there is one of their sales reps. Looks better than this
In spite of being obscenely overpriced, like most Japanese brands, I still think White Mountaineering is an interesting brand.
It's like a less-restrained version of Visvim or Nanamica. You could don both at the office (well, save for the most experimental pieces) while with WM on, you'd invariably end up looking like a crazy shaman from deep into the woods.
saw the collection while in NYC and will probably bring some in for next fall (ships in august aprox). It is really cool and also very expensive. I wonder if people will still be interested when they see the prices.
One example was a amazing totally waterproof WOOL jacket that will probably retail for about 1500.00
The best priced items were the socks which will retail for about 60 something dollars.
Blake, please bring in some WM! That would be killer, people would come from miles around
Absolutely agree. The logger 2.0, Icelandic logger! Junya and WM are singlehandedly bringing fairisle to the forefront this fall.
+2
Would be a good buy for portland, not sure if the sticker shock will go over.
Only a matter of time for a knockoff brand to mountain clown swagger jack.
