This is true. I know I stated that I follow this "rule" myself, but also dislike it when people try to give general advice on how to interact with women. Each girl is different. What one likes, another may find a turn off.

Maybe guys use them because
they work well? Waiting a day or two has always worked well for me so it became a habit. This is really the only "rule" I follow so I can't speak for any of the others. Even then I am reconsidering the need for it.
