you can try to move your natural part(assuming you have short hair) after washing your hair, just part the hair while its wet the way you want and be hopeful it sticks after a few weeks and with flyaways, it shouldn't require that much gel to get rid of them...

I've tried many times and it's fucking hard to shift your natural part.
Instead of forcing it with styling substances which dry your hair out, invest in the best sulfate free shampoos and deep conditioners to get very healthy hair first. Then approach the part shift slowly.

My natural part isn't straight. It begins about 4 cm above my left ear, meanders towards the crown, back down again, and ends up in the middle of my forehead. I have to "force" a part to say the least.

When my hair is damp, I apply a small amount of Murray's and comb it down severely. It actually works. My hair is actually starting to part where I have been forcing it.

Hair rehab I guess.

You can't ever change your natural part but I would just wash>comb/blowdry then apply wax/gel/hairspray to keep the hold.

Slightly dry your hair--a few pats with a towel--the moment you get out of the shower, then take a comb and create the desired part. I find it looks best when centered over the edge of the eye. Apply a light hold hair spray to each side of the part, then blow dry using a comb for precision. It should be noted that an unnatural part can often look awkward if executed improperly...
