The liquor laws here are effing terrible. But we have a deeply entrenched State Liquor Store Employee's Union that is impossible to defeat. The pensions these motherfuckers (and I don't use that word lightly) are reaping off us by having a monopoly over wine and liquor sales is enraging. The machines OP mentioned do exist, I've seen them in several stores, although I refuse to buy anything from those garbage contraptions. The selection sucks, the prices are too high, and the customer service is vomit inducing.



This is what they look like. It's a travesty. Everybody associated with this system should be crucified upside down.

WA State is at what, 52% markup over cost for spirits right now?
We also have the highest tax rate on alcohol in the country at $25.73 a gallon.
