Acorn summer pinpoint. Feels amazing. Acording to Frank it is the most expensive shirting fabric he has come across. I almost had a coronary when he gave me the bill.

Another button.

I have been going to the Manhattan shop because it is a million times easier. I am told you pay a bit more to go to the Manhattan shop due to overheads. I really never paid that close attention.

Interesting. I ask only because I live in between the 2 store fronts (maybe a bit closer to the Brooklyn one). I suppose when I'm more financially sound I'll take a look there.

Brooklyn is also where all the tailors work so if you come in for a fitting there, they can sometimes make alterations real time. Not relevant for an initial consultation.

Yeah, a nice plus.

No this is it. Also mind that this is only 36" wide so you have to double your order.

More like 1.5x - 3 yards instead of 2. I'm not sure if I understand why this fabric was so expensive.

I don't get it either.

Whenever I see your handle I can't help but say to myself "Tukker the fucker".

It's not the difference in cost between the fabrics that kill you. It is the mark-up that the Shirtmaker adds that kills you.

The difference in cost between a length of Grasmere and a length of Grange is 40-50 Dollars.

Went in last night for my first fitting on my Minnis Fresco blazersuit. Needs some tweaks (I lost weight since Frank measured me--at least an inch in the waist), but looking very good.

BTW, Frank really is a mensch--when we were chatting after the fitting (he stayed open late to meet me, so it was close to 8pm), a kid knocked on the shop door and asked to use the bathroom. Frank let him in and told the kid where it was. Most New Yorkers--hell, most people--would've told the kid "sorry," especially since the shop was closed and we were leaving. But he didn't--I was impressed by that.

He's a good egg.
