Affordable Ivy sweaters this season

Hello,

Looking to pick up some affordable (<$150) Ivy-style sweaters this season. Cashmere NOT preferred. I prefer thicker cable-knit wool. By Ivy-style, I mean potentially with sleeve stripes / v-neck stripes, or base stripes. Something cable-knit with flair but no stripes is also interesting.

Who is making these this season? Fit is unimportant as I will get it tailored, so if a nice design that fits like a tent is available at some populist place like BR, that works too.

Thanks!

I am a big fan of both of these:

Also a fan of this Fair Isle:

Why don't you just spend more money for a sweater that fits well off the rack instead of paying to have it tailored?

Thanks for the links.

I prefer tailoring because I have never found an item that fits me as perfectly as something tailored. An extra $35 I am more than willing to pay for a perfectly fitting item.

When did GANT become cool again? For some reason I remember them being sold at Macy's and other mid-level department stores when I was a kid; now they are at Barney's. I'm I losing my mind or has the brand changed?

Barney's and NM have the Michael Bastian Gant stuff, not normal Gant.

And if you are 12-25 then the Rugby sweaters mentioned before(http://www.rugby.com/shop/category.a...179&cp=3138868) are the place to go. Clean designs, decent quality and if you are a student 15% off all prices (including sale prices) by showing student ID at the store or going to http://www.rugby.com/about/students.aspx

What qualifies something as an "Ivy" sweater?
