True, but even without the reveal of the father, it doesn't make sense that it's Robert's kid (which is what a lot of people actually thought). Why would Ned have to protect Robert's own son with the woman he loved from him?

I've considered this myself several times during this season. I've not read a sentence from any of these books, but it felt like they are pandering to the 'safe spaces' crowd. It's disappointing they can't adhere more to the real story.

I thought they couldn't top episode 9 but they did it with episode 10. 

I went back to when Rob Stark was declared the King of the Norf and saw how similar the scenes were to Jon Snow's. But I disagree with folks online saying that Jon Snow will meet the same fate as Rob.
