Sam's dad is a motherfucker.

Given how Sam wound up at the Wall in the first place, that had to be expected. I think they did a great job of casting on that one.

I wonder if they deliberately cut directly from that scene with Benjen/Coldhands to the scene with Daario... Could have only been better if the did a quick cut at the end to Euron with a smirk on his face.

Bran was tripping balls.

The racism angle was over the top. Cartoonish.

But can you blame him for being pissed? Taking care of the bastard is one thing, but they dressed up the peasant baby momma and sat her at the dinner table.

People seem to be relying on a line from the books saying that Coldhands is thousands of years old, and a GRRM liner note in a manuscript to the effect that BenJen isn't Coldhands. That seems like pretty flimsy evidence to me, but whatevs.

After the last few episodes of watching the High Sparrow spout his pious b.s., I was really looking forward to seeing him and the Faith Militant get slaughtered. Bummer.

Thommen is a nice person, but too much of a pussy to be King. Makes me a tiny bit nostalgic for King Joffrey. (Did I really say that?)

Still hoping the High Sparrow dies horribly.

Don't the children just say "he died a long time ago", and readers are using the ages of the children to infer that "a long time ago" means decades?

It seems an unnecessary inference to me.

And yeah, GRRM might not want to reveal something to the editors when they themselves clearly aren't to be trusted to keep it from the public.

BenJen is a terrible TMZ name.

I'm fucking sick of Danys.

Wanted some Marjorie boobs, too.

As has been said it's indicated pretty clearly he's not is the thing, so noting this is what the show runners have done, is far from controversial. Characters with deep mystery about them is not a forte of the show, so with that proviso, it makes sense from the show runner's POV and helps speed what has become an albatross along it's way to the end.

Let's see what grrm's explanation is for coldhands and where benjen is in the next book.

Perhaps GRRM told D and D that benjen and coldhands are one

Could be. Then more probably GRRM dies before the next book is completed. wink.gif

I think that this isn't what it seems. We're viewing it as high sparrow broke Marge, and she convinced Tommen in earnest. I really think Marge figured out a way to get out of her walk of shame by faking atonement and giving the high sparrow something that he wanted. She's also managed to get him to betray the Lannisters by sending Jaime away. It might backfire, but I bet this is more about Tyrell vs. Lannister than the faith vs. the corrupt ruling class.

The Tommen situation has always been about Marge vs. Cersei since whoever controls him is essentially the one in power, and by getting out of the walk of shame by manipulating Tommen, it looks like Marge has won.
