They piled up the bodies this episode, didn't they? Still felt like a lot of meh. Brienne was the high point of the whole thing.

Going to watch it tonight, but after the kickasss mid-season finale of Vikings this weekend, I think Thrones will disappoint.

Well, every GoT female is weak sauce compared to Lagertha (yes, even Dany)

a.  The mother was wearing poisoned lipstick and kissed Myrcella goodbye.  Then Myrcella died in Jaime's arms while being rowed to the ship.  At that point turning around would have been suicide.

b.  The boy had no idea she was dead

He was on the ship that carried her body, plus he was painting the coins / whatever they put on corpses when the girls came in. How'd they get there when it takes other characters entire seasons to travel half that distance? Who knows.

Just like how the kennels disappeared when they saw Big D the Squire.

I don't see why everyone has been making a big deal out of this.

1. People love animals and you can't just slaughter them on screen without pissing off peta (even though you can send someone's brain through their skull 10 times an episode).
2. Even if you could slaughter them at will, trying to stage realistic fights with multiple animals is pretty tough...would rather they spent that money on something that mattered to the plot.
3. Ramsay needs Sansa alive and relatively intact. She has to convince the northerners to support the Bolton claim, and she has to bear him an heir. He'll send bloodhounds, which are great at finding things, but not vicious attackers...and this isn't a place where he would just be sadistic even if it isn't the best strategic choice...if Sansa's not around to give him a son...he's a dead man.

They got on any number of other ships that were making the same journey and then snuck on board while the boat was at anchor in the harbor.
They didn't turn the ship around, probably because they knew exactly what happened...going back was just walking into a death trap.

Of course, that whole dorne storyline is a mess.

Why would the almost-wife of oberyn do any of that? Wouldn't you think they would share similar values?

He went to king's landing to avenge what was seen as wrongs against his family. He literally said something like "We don't hurt little girls in dorne".

And now that he's gone, his lady goes and kills the rest of his family? Kills the little girl?

And all of the guards just let it happen, despite there being no real build up to indicate that the people of dorne were unhappy?

Garbage. Luckily it happened at the beginning and I pretty much forgot about it by the end of the episode.

You don't even have to go to the books for this...that's in the damn show.

Not to mention -- why did they do the overly dramatic kiss of death, let Jamie escape, let the prince (the little prince) get away too? Wouldn't the obvious thing for the Lannisters to do with the kid is announce that he's the new king of Dorne? Imagine if they'd gotten onto the boat and found that he was long gone?

It seems to be a really common thing these days in television to count on people just not remembering what happened last season.

The whole Dorne thing is just horrible. Of all the plot holes and the apparent assumption that the viewer has amnesia, I hope they just allow this to disappear without any explanation.
