Huh? In the show, Cersei's extreme paranoia drives all her actions.

It's 10 times worse in the book

Whoever asked "Where was her constant kingsguard escort?" raised a good point.

Does the author have something against weddings?

- the infamous red wedding
- joffrey's wedding (thank goodness he died)
- now Dany is getting or got married?

Cersei hates the Tyrells because she's convinced they had a hand in murdering her son. She happens to be completely right on that one. Not sure I'd call that extreme paranoia.

How could someone so paranoid and power Hungary got arrested without her kings guard present?

How did she got arrested in the books? Shit makes no fucking sense.

Or the Kings guards were written off due to either budget or plot issues. Like that Ser Baristan?

In the books the Kings Guard shows up at the Sept of Balor and is not admitted. There's a bit of discussion between Cersei and the chief of the watch for the Faith. She demands to see the High Septon. He will only meet within the Sept. She is so intent on seeing him she tells the Kings Guard to stay outside. She essentially walked into a trap because of her own impatience. Don't know why they cut that out. It's also the second or third time she visits the Sept so she knows the drill. She's been allowed to come and go each time previously.

In the books Ser Loras isn't arrested. He's off on a quest to take Storm's End for Cersei. Cersei sends him to leave Margery unprotected. Margery is arrested for fornication, although she's a lot younger and it's unclear whether she's guilty or not. One of the main witnesses is in Cersei's pocket (or so she thinks). He's actually in Littlefinger's. That same witness recants against Margery and admits to fornication with Cersei. I don't think she's actually imprisoned for her involvement in the plot to kill King Robert.

Just because one has real enemies doesn't mean one isn't paranoid.

I haven't rewatched the last season but I'm willing to bet Cersei hated or at least severely distrusted the Tyrell's before Joffrey was killed.

I think you are overthinking things. And it's probably kills the fun watching the show if you expect every scene to match what took place in the book. The Kingsguard weren't allowed to see the High Sparrow even with the King present, why would they be allowed to enter with the Queen Mother (who might I add still believed she was in control of events)? She obviously met with him believing she would be walking out, so she possibly told them to stand down. Ok, I suppose 5 seconds of film could've been used to show that, but do you really need to have your hand held so much?

With Ser Pounce?

Weren't you paying attention when he walked through the city to get to the Sept with the kingsguard? The whole city hates him and what he stands for. All hell would break loose if he attacked the High Sparrow. Perhaps if he got uncle Kev back to town with an army he could then attack and stamp out any insurrection.

On the flip side the whole city loved queen Margery.
