I don't like who they cast for Melisandre. I think that Ruth Wilson from Luther would have been a far better choice. She seems to be able to combine the creepy and sexy in one fell swoop

Loras Tyrell is too girly. He's suppose to be pretty for a knight, not a runway model pretty boy who doesn't look like he could lift a sword.

Actually I've found casting to be so, so for major characters. Robert Baratheon was poorly casted, IMO. Ditto Ned Stark, Kat Stark, Loras, Mance Raider.

Ned might have been different from the book, but Sean Bean's performance was iconic. I can't really argue with it.

I'm not going to argue that Bean did not kill it but I'll stand pat on the thought it was not faithful to the book.

To give some kudos on casting, Drogo nailed it and Joffery was genius.
