At least now that Daenerys has decided to settle down for a bit in Mereen, her storyline can take a back burner for a while. Maybe some of that tediousness will get condensed.

Would be awesome to put her storyline at the back burner. She's boring as duck nowadays.

Duck is pretty boring - along with his companions. Mayhaps they'll be introduced soon. More likely only three from that party will be included and Duck will be omitted. shog[1].gif

I suspect they will find something interesting for her to do (unlike GRRM)

The problem is that the Dani storyline' epicness is expensive to portray onscreen (big battles, dragon CGI).

It's like Heroes. Concept was amazing and I eagerly tuned in in hopes of seeing constant comic-book superhero power battles, but I quickly got fed up with all the character dev and dramatic bullshit

Wait. You're telling me they use CGI for those dragons?
i thought they had tamed some real dragons

I wish it was khaleesi only inlove.gif

funny, when she comes on the screen, i take a piss break. that's actually becoming my rule for anyone but Jaime and Tyrion.

I think it's the protocol of being "fostered" (i.e., a hostage) to give Dorn some leverage against the Lannisters.

It was explained in the episode that Littlefinger let Lysa know he'd be bringing Sansa with him. Robin didn't know who she was until his mom told him.

Also, By the time Oberyn left Dorne, there was still a bit more of a war being waged. Stannis may have been beaten back, but Robb was still alive. No impending invasion threat, but if part of the goal of sending her away was protection of the lineage...its not really safe to put all of the potential heirs back in one place again.

I was wrong. I had thought that the "weird" part was that Lysa knew who Sansa was. I just looked back at it, and it turns out that Lysa does actually know in the books...for whatever reason, I had thought she wasn't in on it.

Good point - I overlooked that, but I think it's exactly right. That whole convention definitely has the protective element you've highlighted, as well as the hostage component.
