Just wow... As a bookreader, a lot of things bugged me with this episode... :uhoh:

House of the Undying suuuuuuucked. Soooooo bad.

The House of the Undying was a massive cop out and let down. As was Theon

I guess this means no Reek. And now it makes no sense at all for Winterfell to be burned down

Regarding Reek (big spoiler):

There might be no reek, but Ramsay snow will still be in the show and we'll probably learn that after dagmar and crew tried to hand over theon for safe passage, but were killed by ramsay's men anyway. afterwards, the razed winterfell and blame dit on the iron islanders. Theon can easily become reek without there being an original reek persona. If I'm not mistaken, they called ramsay reek because he smelled like piss and ****, so it isn't really farfetched that theon will get his nickname in the same manner.

I read the books a while agos so i may be wrong ramsay was never reek, reek was his teacher/servant)

Houses of the Undying was a cop-out, yeah. Disappointing because that was the thing I was most pumped for. Basically the entire point is to make it very clear, yet again, that it is a bad plan to mess with that particular diminuitive blonde girl. Came through somewhat, sure, but not with anywhere near the... fury that it should have.

Just noticed the three blasts in the season preview, incredibly subtle foreshadowing.

it gets a bit convoluted, but ramsay is reek. there was an actual reek who was his servant, but Ramsay and Reek switched identities because Ramsay was to be executed for the **** and torture of Lady Hornwood.

Okay, with a little distance to the last ep. I can forgive all the changes they made this season except for one. Bastards and Undying Houses aside, the only major issue for me was the fact that Cat and Robb never found out about Bran and Rickon. I mean, seriously?

It has to be intentional, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Their actions in the books where those of a grief-stricken mother and brother, but in the show they just seem selfish; "Hey-ho let's release Jaime!" and "Oh, cute medic. I have to marry her!".

They might have plans for when the information comes out next season (i.e. their grief-stricken actions may take on other consequences).

could be something to do with setting up the red wedding

That could make sense, Benioff and Weiss who make GOT have always said that they are treating the series of books as one whole, rather than sticking strictly to one book per season. So they do sometimes bring things in from later books and omit things until a later season apparently. The idea is just to make the best television adaptation they can.

I've only read the first book, but think the series is brilliant

Not only that, but Robb marrying Jeyne was an example of his stubborn Stark honor: he couldn't bring himself to dishonor this noblewoman who had "comforted" him in his time of sorrow. Like Ned before him, he knew what a risk he was taking and he took it anyway because it was the right thing to do. Here, he's just being childish. It's really annoying me a lot.

What? I like the show a lot. That element and a few others are annoying to me.

While waiting for the last ep. I found this. Think there are some very vague "name-drop spoilers" in there, so if you're sensitive, stay clear.

Way better than I would've guessed.
enjoyed this. Last episode was good although I WTF'd a bunch of the things that others have mentioned. Especially why doesn't anyone know that bran's dead? Now it will be like nobody even knows, they will find winterfell burned and be like "hmm I dunno, they're not here, maybe they are dead, or maybe they are somewhere else" And my non-book-reading friends straight up agreed that the releasing jamie and marrying some random chick without being grief-stricken just seems stupid. Stark honor and Mother's need to protect her remaining children would make much more sense.
