Fact is, a lot of people who are super fans of something don't understand the monetary value of their contributions. Just look at wiki farms - they'll buy out sites for tens of thousands of dollars. Hell, just look at this site, just by contributing here and having discussions, you're creating value to the site owner. Generating pageviews, creating original naturally search optimised content, etc.

Point is, people like that guy probably don't understand what they're worth, and think that being involved in a project is payment enough.

I see a new career opportunity for stitches as a fanboy agent/manager.

Except the fact checker fan is fungible. There are probably a few dozen fans who are equally knowledgeable. And, a few hundred, who while they don't know as much off the top of their head, would be willing to go through everything and read old references to make sure there was continuity. Worrying about whether it was a mare or a stallion is pretty particular, but when genealogy is so important, eye and hair color sticks out quite a bit.

Maybe. Or he just does not care and enjoy plenty doing it for free. I dunno, I find it hard to believe that if someone you admire asks you for you help, your first answer would be : only if you pay me X bucks.

not your first answer. but if it becomes a constant and valuable expertise that is when things change. many consultants offer initial work for free.

i mean, if someone asked a favor or two that is one thing, but once it becomes more than that, which i gather this has, its a different ball game.

Of course.

In any case, I think we can all pretty much agree that we can't wait for the next episode this Sunday happy.gif

I wasn't posting that to make some political point on torture. But yeah, he killed his own men, something completely in character for The Bastard.

edit: I hope in books 4 and 5 have either him or Theon are POV characters, because it would be nice to directly see what he's up to.

double meaning
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
very excited for the second of the two meanings. Jon Snow and Ygritte are meh. Only HBO would do the Lord's Kiss though. So, I'm glad this isn't on a broadcast network.

But, the Beric v Sandor and Thoros breathing fire/life back into his lungs is just going to be awesome.

Hint: it's a phrase that a cunning linguist would have no trouble parsing
