Yep I saw this too, plus the look of guilt on Jorah's face when he saw the wine seller

I had suspected that but I don't remember whether it was clearly pointed out. Good to know that that's what happened.

It happened, but wasn't emphasized. I can see how it would be easy to miss. HBO should have flashed a titty during that scene or something. Maybe a quick cut-scene to Ros riding a John reverse cowgirl or something, then back to the Dany story, to let us know we should be paying attention at that point.

IMO, Jon killing Quorin in fit of rage was epic, and IMO creates more internal conflict for him that still rings true to what we know will happen with the storyline in the later books/seasons.

I think the opposite. Him killing Qhorin in a fit of rage just makes him a dick, and really someone who actually betrayed his vows and killed a brother (in spirit as well as in deed).

Brienne hasn't had enough screen time to acquire depth as a character yet, give it time, they still have to do whatever they're going to do instead of the Vargo Hoat thing.

it seemed to me that Jon Snow knew what was going on.

Not quite. A few episodes ago Qhorin warned Jon he was going to have to do it.

Btw, I actually like Brienne I find she's refreshingly ernest. Plus so far appears pretty innocent in intentions compared to just about all the living characters bar Sansa.

Ladies and gentlemen, this thread has jumped the shark, and that shark is currently attempting to apply advanced trigonometry to dungeons and dragons.

Part of his whole dilemna is trying to be as good at ruling as he was at winning battles. Having him say "You know, fuck the Freys and fuck the marriage contract" in a deliberate fashion really goes against his drive to be a good king. It's a deliberately bad decision, instead of just an impulsive one.

Maybe you could see it as him rebelling as Cat: you release Jaime, I'm going to ignore you and marry this girl (thus breaking the treaty you set). That I could buy, he's trying to establish his indepedence from his mother, but it didn't come off that way to me.

All he says is he has to do "what is necessary." Jon isn't the brightest.

I agree that it makes no sense.

One thing that's not emphasized in the show like it was in the books is that it's not just Robb's honor at stake--it's also about 4000 troops. Frey is one of Robb's most important vassals, bannermen, whatever they call them. Putting that alliance at risk means he could easily lose the war outright or even any chance of negotiating a peace.

In the books it kind of makes sense since he was the last living Stark (Sansa's next and guess who she's supposed to marry) and Robb needs an heir, but he doesn't even think that on the show. Instead he'd be putting his brothers at risk too. Dumb dumb dumb.

Would 4000 troops matter when Stannis had 100000? Anyway not trying to argue Robb's actions weren't reckless but he doesn't need Frey's bridge anymore.

That bridge was and is strategic which is why the Freys became so powerful.

The Game of Thrones Iron Throne is unlike anything you've ever seen before. This custom chair is designed to mimic the seat of kings in the Seven Kingdoms. On the show, the Iron Throne was constructed by Aegon I Targaryen, the first king of the Seven Kingdoms. He made it from the swords surrendered by his enemies. Legend has it, it's made of a thousand swords that took 59 days to hammer out into a throne. Spikes and jagged edges in every direction make this one very intimidating lounge. Our version is constructed of hand-finished, hand-painted fiberglass and fire-proof resin that's been twisted and turned to re-create the Game of Thrones design. Now's your chance to own this very special custom-made piece of furniture that, by all appearances, is more closely related to art. Extra large in size, it measures over 7' in height, close to 6' in depth and 5.5' in width. Calling it "impressive" is an understatement.
