Have you measured it? First of all, hard water doesn't affect the taste. Too soft water does, but chalk doesn't. It does however affect the machine, so it really only depends on your usage and the hardness of the water.
The Nespresso machine is a thermoblock system, right? I've just checked and ThermoBlock systems are very resistant to chalk since the "pipe" where the water gets heated always gets emptied after the shot is pulled so the precipitated chalk can't really build up. Any info?
