I just went through the checkout - it automatically prompts you to add the Aerochino in the color of your choice when you have 350+ pods in your cart.

I was in Sur la Table yesterday, and decided to give it another try. They only had the green pods ("Capriccio") so that's what I tasted. It's not bad, and better than many commercial espressos, but nowhere near the best. It was light in body, low-fruit, low-acidity, low-chocolate flavor, a little nutty, with a very short aftertaste, but it was balanced. It was inoffensive and not very memorable.
edit: some additional comments. The Nespresso lady repeated the "15 bar" extraction pressure claim again, which I find very bizarre because normal espresso extraction is 9 bar, and there's not much you gain from increasing the pressure. The extraction time was about 10 seconds, which is very fast. It was about 5 seconds from when I heard the pump go on to about 5-6 more seconds when the last drip of coffee came out. A normal espresso extraction (at least for the double-dosed 3rd wave stuff) is about 24 seconds total. It was on the normal setting, neither lungo nor ristretto.

Mine claims to be 19 bars. This guy at work has a shitty espresso machine that he brings up all the time that it has 26 bars of pressure. I think it is all marketing hype really. I am also confused about the pressure/extraction time. Very odd.

All the machines are supposed to be 19 bars

The pump may be capable of 19 bars, and some regular espresso machines have pressure specs much higher than 9 bar, too, but the extraction is supposed to be done around 9 bar.

cool. did the credit come in the mail or electronically? Don't have a nespresso account number yet. I'm going to wait until the last day to redeem just in case I get my $100 club credit.

I checked, the aerocino will be included if I redeem the "welcome offer" of 200 pods + add 150 more.

Once you get the notification that you got the 100 dollar credit, just go ahead and place an order. It will show on your bank account that it went through for the full amount, but when it clears, it will take the 100 off the total charge.

How do you know when it clears? I submitted my receipt and serial number on the website and I got a confirmation number which I assume means they acknowledge that I sent them something, not that I have granted credit.

got these espresso cups, luckily it fits the macchaiato setting on my latissima perfectly as well. Need to find one that is appropriate for the cappuccino setting now.

I got a message from Nespresso to descale my machine. When I did it last time gdl said I did it too early. Also, it took 4,000 gallons of water going through it to get the nasty taste of the fluid out of it so I am being very wary... patch[1].gif

I got the same message and I am not going to bother. Maybe next year.

Really? I freak out because of how hard our water is here. My steam irons last about 9 months before they start spitting out crust. I am afraid that crust will enter my coffee...
