there is no "warmup phase" other than when you turn it on, both buttons blink, and once they stop the machine is ready to use. so if it doesn't work, how are you making espresso?

Now im on another issue-- both buttons are blinking and I cant get them to stop.

how many shots in a row did you run? if you overheat it the machine will automatically kick into descaling until it cools down. which can take a while.
