How do I get this lighting effect

I like the lighting effect in this film clip with Enrique and Nicole Scherzinger. Looking for any input in terms of how this effect is produced and how I could get it projected on a wall or as room ceiling. Thanks

I have a seen them at the bar before, but never used one. They are cool. When I am DJing, I stick to the scanner-type lasers.
