I think my entire music collection is like 20GB. Movies/TV is what kills my 8GB. However, if you don't need to carry/her your entire music collection, then 8GB may be ok.

Get the bigger size if you can afford it. A movie rip takes up about 1 to 1.5GB. And it is convenient to have your entire music library on the device and this could by itself fill up most if not all of the 8GB. I have, at any given time, 5-6 movies on my 32GB iPhone without any problems. It would be damned inconvenient to be constantly deleting stuff to fit more in.

bigger storage space the better for myself i pulled the trigger on a 8gb since i only use it mostly for music

Like the rest, get the biggest size your budget will permit since these units do not permit storage upgrades or expansion.
