Just to prove that non-ugly winter boots aren't conceptually impossible, I thought I'd post a pic of my Helmut-era HL snow boots. To everyone still looking: some day your prince will come...

oh snap-- was it salt that did them in? the calf leather is so soft-- last winter i definitely found myself being more attentive about wiping off the grime than i would with regular snow boots...


yeah, i suspect that the color of the rubber is a reference to old-school (e.g. bean) snow boots. but i agree that they'd look better if they were, say, all black...

yup, salt + absurd cold weather blizzard shit. Leather got brittle and the sole detached and got fucked up. if you're in an area where it isn't so bad they should be ok, but yeah, keep them clean.
