I have a feeling this thread is more about boots wearing in normal winter conditions, not for shoveling snow in blizzard-like conditions. Might as well reduce all winter clothing purchases to space suit mountaineering parkas and techfabric base layers if that's your criteria.

What about timerland's? They make a great pair of boots and priced well.. Another suggestion

well if you're talking normal winter conditions I would think that just about any boot would do... Except those above, they look weird... What size are you?

What's your definition of "normal winter conditions"? In Montreal snow can get really high, there is slush and salt everywhere.

let's go with standard US winter... Some snow, gets to about 3 degrees on a bad day? See, that's why I want to avoid recommending something other than a blobby winter boot, salt and the generally shit winter here ate my HL boots... Never forget. We got about 5 feet last year, if not more counting the huge drifts, and i think the lowest we got was -40 with a -65 windchill or something.

I recently got a pair of C&J brecon which are quite sleek and gonna use them in combination with a pair of Red Wing GT, Indy's and a pair of crepe soled Butteros.
