The Chestnut is a dark Chocolate brown..with maybe a wee bit of a reddish tinge.

By the way, for those not around at the inception of this threak, we all owe a debt of gratitude to Sator, who has his own forum now but occasionally lurks here. He was the one that did all the legwork that you see in the first post of this thread (if you have not read it, go back and do so), he was the one that put us in touch with Nungar (who is a great seller with if not the cheapest, close to the cheapest price on these) and the fact that this thread is still up and running 6 years later is a testament to the usefulness of the subject matter. Don't know of any other thread on SF like this.

This is my favourite colour. I have the exact same pair.
Looks great with raw denim.

For reference, these are Chestnut yearling as well with more of a shine & bulled toe.

It was a bit of an experiment that I've since decided against. I wondered if I "could" get a mirror shine on the RMW yearling and determined that it is indeed possible. However, I much prefer a matte finish and removed the wax. I still wear them with anything short of a suit. They are a very versatile boot especially for business travel. I can wear them with a jacket & tie during the day and with chinos or even denim when I'm not working. The matte finish works better with casual attire.
