The jacket looks better after you changed the tee but it still doesn't look great.

As to your statement that if the jacket was a popular brand and cost more than $50 that the replies would be different is bullshit. You look like a fucking pear. You're a little chubby. Most clothes look the best on tall, slim guys. You need to find clothes that flatter your body type. If you want to learn how clothes should fit go read the articles on GQ.

Yep. Being short and stocky sucks.

You sound angry though, are you okay?

He doesn't sound angry, he's just giving you an honest opinion.

To be totally honest, a) the main reason the jacket looks bad is quality (plasticky looking leather, bad fit, cheap looking hardware, etc.) b) the main reason the jacket looks bad on you is your body type + bad fit on jacket $50 shipped is super cheap for a leather? jacket, but why buy it just becasue its cheap? especially when it just doesnt look right on you, even if you size down the fit is still gonna be bad if the cut of the jacket is bad to begin with. I'm not saying that only expensive jackets fit better or fit well even, but I'm sure theres better options for you than just that one, maybe not at 50 but say if you save and can go for at least the 150-200 range I'm sure you'll find something way better looking than that one, in fact given your body type I wouldnt even go for a dr(or a bomber), I'd try a racer/moto or something different that will give you a leaner shape (or at least more proportioned to your lower body and height), you have to be honest with yourself and admit that that particualr jacket just looks like a huge square box on your upper body (aside from the visual quality issues), oh and the sleeves are long too. I know most are only bashing the jacket and not giving you options for your budget but for example BS was mentioned before and I think thats a good bargain option for a leather jacket, yeah its a knock-off or repro of a designer jacket with lesser quality leather but its still decent looking, slim fitting and the price seems fair if not cheap compared to others, I dont own any myself but if I was on a budget, or only had 200 to spend on a leather jacket, I'd probably give them a try.

I'm not short or stocky. I'm 6'1" 175 and I can't wear stuff like the models do. My thighs are too muscular for that so I have to adjust accordingly (that includes adjusting how you wear things for your upper body) while all of them have stick legs.

And I'm not angry, I was giving you my honest non-sugarcoated opinion since you seem to not understand or disregard everything that was said in here.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Jacket is going to be returned, and i'm probably not looking for a DR since it doesnt fit my body type.

Timbaland,

I wasn't suggesting that you were stocky, I was saying that being short and stocky sucks lol.

I was not disregarding what people said in the thread. Like I said before, I wanted to know why the jacket was not working on me while it worked on others; which I got my answer.

Damn, i was really liking the DR style too.

I don't agree with most of the criticisms on this thread (except maybe leather quality). What you've got is a bike-style jacket. it should be longer through the body so it still covers your back, especially when riding. aiming for the belt line is a good bet IMO. i think the red jacket pictured is too short for that reason. as to detailing, well fashions come and go. the super-plain jackets favoured on this forum will look out of date in a few years. a good bike jacket won't date. only problem is the rest of your look needs to fit with it, and maybe too heavy for casual use. just my opinion. get a better quality jacket though.
