-Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit: A prequel to the later Jack Ryan flicks. Not as good as the later ones. I would give this 2 out of 5 stars.

-American Hustle: Ok..I know this flick received all of the accolades, etc. And while it was an interesting watch, I don't get all of the hullabaloo! First, it was LONG. I fell asleep twice before I restarted the movie and watched the entire thing. And while it was nice looking at AR and JL wearing low cut dresses, outside of C Bale and A Ryan, I didn't see any amazing performances. JL was so-so at BEST(and that is pushing it.) B Cooper was ok, but nothing amazing. J Renner was solid(also nothing amazing.)

The story was interesting but I didn't finish watching the movie saying to myself.."Self, that as a damm good movie." Honestly, I give this 2 1/2 stars.

-White House Down: Basically Die Hard in the White House. I would watch DH(as a matter of fact, I own the DVD) again. While this was somewhat entertaining, I probably have no need to re-watch.

I tried reading this but your use of truncated names makes it feel like I'm reading US Weekly and I don't feel like trying to recall their actual names. Do you work for Lumosity?

It's a fantastically enjoyable movie with a lot of great humour and action. The sword-fighting scene between the Dread Pirate Roberts and Inigo Montoya is outstanding.

It's in my Best Sword Fight thread, but that's now a mess due to the old youtube formatting.

It's not about the action as it is the conversation. It's a delightful scene in a wonderful movie.

But the various techniques mentioned in the Roberts/Montoya fight are from historic sword masters (Bonetti, Capo Ferro, Thibault, Agrippa).

Yeah, same here. A bit of advice to those planning to watch it with their missus: be ready for her to turn to you after the movie and ask "You don't watch porn, do you?".
