saw it when it was first released but not since then. such a great movie, glad i re-watched it.

In a moment of weakness I went out last weekend to catch a late showing of the 300 se-pre-quel.
It was as drab as I thought; except for Eva Green going Leon-style-Gary-Oldman and getting ker kit off, nothing that we had not seen in the first film, done considerably better. Oh yeah, horse-on-a-ship bit was super-weird, but not as ridiculous as the whole Xerxes transformation 'explanation'. Sheeesh.
It also seems that the main guy was good enough to slaughter the whole invading force single-handed. A Wolverine/Yojimbo tag-team wouldn't even put a scratch on him. Not sure why he even bothered with 'strategy' and stuff...
Not going to bother examining any of the moral implications or general inaccuracies of the story, not realy a historical drama.
I'd feel bad for the people involved, but considering the box-office reports I'm sure this is not the last 300 film we'll get.
