watched two movies the past 2 nights
children of men - thought it was really good. michael cane was amazing of course. i wasnt super pleased with the ending, and i thought the first 2/3 of the movie were better than the last 1/3, but all in all it was quite good imo.
breach - fantastic. compelling and gripping from start to finish. chris cooper is just outstanding. wonderfully told and paced story. thanks for the rec teacher!

Both of these films are pretty good. You're right about Caine, he's absolutely fantastic.

I think I have seen the first 2 swedish ones...saw the first in a theater and the second on netflix. 95% sure I have not seen the third one yet (might have been that the book wasn't out yet).

Looking forward to seeing the US version...Fincher and Craig are good. I did really enjoy the swedish ones though. I had read the books going in and thought the movies were great.

Speaking of swedish movies remade for the US...has anyone seen the US remake of Let the Right One In (I think they just called it Let Me In)?
Thought the swedish one was awesome but seems like the US one might have flopped...I meant to see it in a theater when it came out and all of the sudden it was gone.

I have only seen Let The Right One In.

Swedish accents are very tricky to my ear. Sometimes they sound French, sometimes Italian and once in a while Russian. Whenever I can't place an accent I find out that it is Swedish.

The original Let the Right One In is my second favourite film of all time. I did not want to taint my image of it by watching its American remake.

I've got this one on my to-read list, then will check out the movie.

Very excited about V/H/S btw.

I need a good horror flick to make up for the stinkbombs that were Tape 407, 11.11.11, and Exit Humanity.

Your wife narrated a 9 hour movie to you? The subtitles seem to work fine for us.

I don't remember it being 9 hours. Did you catch the whole trilogy or something? I thought it was more like 3 hours, and FWIW she summarized where the action wasn't sufficient to explain the plot. A lot of it was self-explanatory.
