Von Trier is a rather depressing individual; his films reflect that. But I still listen to him because I think he has something true to say.

I agree, but I think he also has a lot of adolescent posturing mixed in with that. Although I haven't watched Melancholia so I can't speak to that. Antichrist is one of the few films that I wish I hadn't watched.

Found Breaking Bad Season 1 a bit hard to get into....it picks up steam in season 3 I reckon. Was reading an article by vince gilligan where he attributes the crazy spike in viewership to binge viewing where people just consume it in huge chunks. Got to agree....I doubt I could ever watch it every friday at 9...would be excruciating.....binge viewing is amazingly addictive.

I loved season 1 when it came out, and still enjoyed it on rewatch recently, but it barely hints at how great the show gets later in the series. Once Saul, Mike and Gus show up it really is complete. Of course, two of those are now gone frown.gif

If you like Ray Donavan try to catch Larry David's Clear History on HBO. Liv Schribner has a bit part that kills

Had some redeeming qualities; unusual method of story telling and an interesting story. But there were drawbacks too; acting was pretty bad and the plot felt contrived. All in all it wasn't the worse way to spend an hour and a half.
