Yes!  It completely drew me into the situation.  By the end of it, I couldn't shake the feeling of "what if I was stranded in space"?  Bummed me out a little, but I chalk that up to the effectiveness of a damn-good trailer.

Right? One of the best trailers I've seen in some time.

The other trailers for it are fantastic as well:

Whoa. I hadn't heard of it, but I'm definitely intrigued.

I recall seeing a trailer for this before, but I don't think it was one of those above. What's particular effective, is how they play out as seemingly just one take with no cuts (and in the second one posted, how the camera glides seamlesly out of Sandra's helmet). While digital effects can be great for creating the impossible (dinosaurs, giant robots, etc) you still *know* what you see isn't real, so you still feel kinda detached IMO. OTOH, using it for creative camera work can really help drag you in, as long as it's used sparingly and not too gimicky.

Agreed. It's some of the best CGI work I've seen--both from a technical, as well as a creative perspective.

I love that the film seems to be such a compact story--in the vein of Moon.

Other great things: the music, and the sound. LOVE that there is no sound in space (obviously other than their voices, breathing, etc). Always drives me crazy in sci fi movies when there are loud explosions in space. In this case, I also think that it raises the tension quite a bit.

That should make everyone mad. Or nauseous. Maybe both.

Also, Rosario Dawson full frontal :-)

There was a lot going on with this film and it felt like a book more than a movie...I enjoyed it a lot. I have my opinion of what was going on that might not have seemed to obvious but i think fits.

It is definitely worth the watch as is only god forgives...very happy with peoples reminding me of these movies when I wasnt paying attention earlier this year when they came out.
