Also, the bar scene was such a letdown that it dimmed the whole movie for me. When you get Louis CK, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Ricky Gervais in a scene alone, it should be magic, and it wasn't even close.

ummmm, so turns out i was thinking of a different movie. facepalm.gif

i was thinking of the one with aaron eckhart about cigarettes. as to the movie you saw, agree 100%. another facepalm.gif for posterity.

curious: what are your fave guilty pleasure movies? e.g. movie so bad it's good, or movies you know it's shit but still love anyway... or movies people hated but you liked without any sense of irony...

The Family Man. Ironically a Nick Cage movie. Also, Love Actually.

Please no spoilers on SoA! I'm still not done with the most recent season.

Yeah, I love Love Actually, and I wouldn't even consider it a guilty pleasure. I have nothing but seething contempt for the whole romantic comedy genre, but, unless I'm forgetting one, Love Actually is literally the only romcom I've ever seen that I enjoyed.

Hugh Grant actually seems to excel in this format. About A Boy is pretty damn funny and Notting Hill has its moments despite Julia Roberts presence.

Down With Love is also awesome.

Howard the Duck and Bloodsport are two that come to mind.

The 1st movie is so ridiculous and the love scene between Lea Thompson and the duck traumatized me immensely when I was a young boy.

Bloodsport is like watching a live-action Street Fighter II and perhaps has the best-worst line in the history of film when a promoter evaluates a couple of potential fighters to the tournament, he just looks them over and says "OK U.S.A."
