What Movies Are You Watching Lately - Page 435

All good choices.

For me, Rear Window is the best of the bunch. Voyeuristic, suspenseful, and the way Grace Kelly kisses him. Damn.

Equal to that is Harvey just to watch Stewart charm the hell out of people. The Philadelphia Story is great. Liberty Valance worth watching just for Lee Marvin.

Really can't go wrong, but no It's a Wonderful Life?

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence is a damn good movie. While we're talking about old flicks, any rock hudson fans? hte rock hudson/doris day films are some of my favorite movies to watch...Pillow Talk, Lover Come Back, Send me no Flowers....just fun and funny movies to watch.

I left it out because it's prolific enough that he's probably already seen it. Certainly belongs on there. It's something that goes without saying.

Also, if we're talking about old movies, anyone interested in classic film should really watch as many Preston Sturges films as they can. Sullivan's Travels, Miracle at Morgan's Creek, The Lady Eve, Hail the Conquering Hero, the Palm Beach Story, Unfaithfully Yours, etc. A couple of those were on Netflix fairly recently.

There was a Criterion edition of both movies a few years back that looked great.

Heat. Enjoyed it a lot. Great movie. (The only negative aspect was the music. I wasn't very fond of it.)

Flight of the Phoenix is my favourite Stewart movie. Not that it's his best performance, but the film just rules. I love everything about it.

IMHO the music is quite dated....really has that 90s feel to it.
