watched "this is 40" the other night- leslie mann, john lithgow, albert brooks, melissa mccarthey were great... but the movie felt like an eternity to watch.. too much distractions and aimless plots.... also watched "zero dark thirty" last night.... pretty amazing...

Just watched Seven Psychopaths. Not at all what I was expected. Definitely enjoyed it, and could be in for a repeat viewing.

Wreck It Ralph. Extremely cute and definitely worth watching if you like arcade games, have kids, or both.

that's the premise of the movie. this "retard" man who is surrounded by all these historic events.

I'm fine with that. I don't really care much about groupthink. It was shit.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Ann Hathaway (nice fucking ass aside) was a joke. That Batman voice has to go. The twist at the end with the woman was just idiotic.

The clown car fake NFL teams: oh, and the guy running back that kick with the field crumbling behind him didn't even look back and notice that immense shaking and noise?

They attack the stock exchange and Bruce Wayne loses all his money on put options the SAME DAY and nobody dials that back and says halt those transactions? Ya, ok. They take all his money so the plot twist of the chick taking over the company can move forward? How stupid.

The ghay 42nd street style fight between the cops and the bad guys where that valiant Matthew Modine runs out in front in his Sunday best... wait they had like missiles and guns and stuff but are fist fighting? Ha ha ha.

All those cops underground for MONTHS and the bad guys execute that so perfectly they can neither dig themselves out or find an exit? And who is stupid enough to send an entire city's cops into a bunch of tunnels? Who thought that up?

And, the pinnacle: the blast radius of the nuclear device was 6 miles... and the city starts celebrating. Ok. Um, like wouldn't there be a mountain of radiation, you know, like kill you quick levels with a blast detonated so close? Like Chernobyl is a wasteland, and like downtown Gotham is just fine? Did he use the Bat Shield?

Oh lawdy lawdy laaaawdy I could go on and on with the stupid stuff in there.

Right, but you said he was "one of the most unforgettable movie characters of all time." I suppose he might be memorable, and if that's all you meant then that's fine. But if you meant it was a good performance, or Gump is an interesting or exciting or compelling character then I must take issue with that.

but whats your beef with TDK?

If you're going to get excited about a movie that centers on a cipher who is miraculously at the center of one historic event after another, at least go with the original version:

what I most hate about it (although there's actually a whole list) is that the message is basically "do what you're told and good things will come to you". Fuck that.
