Just watched She's Out of My League. Thought it would be a good way to spend a couple of hours with the wife.

The movie had Its moments, but overall wasn't very good.

Jesus. I seriously can't sit through two hour movies more than once a week. I wish more movies were only an hour or so.

Tokyo Slim do you find that this has been a very good year for animation?

I'm an animation student and I'm just done with my Western Film History exam so over this past week I watched:

Rome, Open city by Roberto Rossellini
Man of Aran by Robert Flaherty
A Room with a View by Merchant Ivory production (not required for the class actually)
Rear Window by Alfred Hitchcock
Metropolis by Fritz Lang
Breathless by Jean-Luc Godard
Battleship Potemkin by Sergei Eisenstein

...I guess this weekend I'll go and fetch something from last decade for balance.

I think I've only watched How to Train Your Dragon, since I think technically 9 was released last year. Seems like a pretty good year for American animation. I feel like it was a bit of a down year for Japanese animation with the passing of Satoshi Kon and not much of note coming to mind that I can think of.

yeah, not so much from Japan.

from the west, though, we have Toy Story 3 (one of the best), Rapunzel (decent), Dragon (well-paced), and Despicable Me (personal favorite), among many others.
