It is an aweful movie, maybe the worst I've ever seen.  They used Sam Elliot to draw in an audience.  It is so bad it's funny for about 15 minutes, then you turn it off.

Cheers,

Oh yes, I once stumbled across this. I couldn't believe that a channel even said 'yes' to airing it on tv.

Very dissapointing and embarrasing for Sam Elliot

haha idk these newer ones are much more realistic looking so I think that plays into it. Starship troopers holds a different candle then total recall for me because I used to watch the the rendered cartoon in the morning.

Took the kids to see The Hobbit.

What suck.

Kids insisted on 3D so I went a step further and watched it in the HFR version too out of curiosity.

What suck.

Firstoff, it was so fucking loud in there it made my ears ring afterwards. My kids were plugging their ears during the battle scenes.

The movie sucks on its own, the acting is shitty, the storytelling is weak, its ponderous and clownish. The music was too dramatic too often. Why does every movie need this same stupid music during fight scenes? Didn't need the rest of my complaints to change that, but wow, this was an epic fail of 3D/HFR.

The movie is so perfect and crisp that it exposes all the sets and makes it look like a stage play. It looks so bad that even my kids said 'it looks fake'. Second, the soap opera effect is terrible, you just can't get past it. Lastly, its so crisp that you see makeup and costumes just look like, well costumes.

Yeah, I kept hearing how the fight scenes in that were so great than I saw it and I thought it looked like a John Woo film that he shot while still in film school confused.gif

Just finished seeing Total Rekall, it was a total dog compared to the Arnie version.

I'm not a big martial arts movie junkie but for shoot-em up action, I think things like Hard Boiled and Face Off had better scenes and stuff like Crouching Tiger and some of the Jet Li stuff has better martial arts choreography. Maybe I went into The Raid with too high expectations.
