Really enjoy Guy Pearce but the movie was just, meh.

I've never seen Dog Day Afternoon. Perhaps this would be a good time to check it out.

finished happy potter 3 last night, and then i watched #5. i think i have watched all 8 films in the past week or so.

i thought they were all excellent. interestingly enough, i thought that the 5th movie was the best one, despite the fact i thought the 5th book was the worst of the lot.

also, luna lovegood is an excellent character, she did a great job. as well, they made umbridge even more deplorable than she was in the book. quite a feat.

Saw batman last night. Thought it was great. Had basically avoided reading anything about the movie since I figured I was going to watch it anyways. Had no idea anne hathaway or marion cotillard were in it and wouldn't have even known that Bane was the villian if not for people postings pics of Romney with a Bane mask and people posting pictures of his leather jacket on SF.

Seriously though...whats up with all of the nolan haters?
These are summer blockbuster movies about a man in a cape. He made them fun and awesome.
Sure, he recovers from catastrophic injuries in 90 days of prison time. Sure, it doesn't make sense why in a sea of cops, someone doesn't just shoot Bane (and this movie really glosses over why Bane is strong and scary).
Sure, its not all that deep. But it was still very good--an engaging and exciting take on a comic book

Would you rather he gave up and we were left with such fantastic films as Transformers 3 or Spiderman 3? (Oh wait, spiderman 3 wasn't enough so they had to go back for more). Nolan's given us an action movie trilogy that doesn't fall apart by the end and generates better discussion than "oh cool, explosions"

Moonrise Kingdom...LOVED IT!!!! And I'm not even really a Wes Anderson fan, but now I feel compelled to re-watch his other stuff and try and figure out what made Moonrise so different.

I agree. Its a fantastic movie on many levels. Will definitely see it again. Great cast, incredible visuals.
