What Movies Are You Watching Lately - Page 686

Only a fan of SF-set movies where the city gets destroyed. Surprising number of these.

40D40N is a fun movie. And it has super hottie Shannyn Sossamon who is usually better than the material she's in. Check out The Rules of Attraction for a good SS movie.

Bad Santa. Had never seen it before, and it was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. Absolutely hilarious.

I haven't seen this since it came out, but I remember it being hilarious. May get drunk and watch it tonight.

(Of course, of Mathieu Kassovitz's movies, it's the 6% on RT Babylon A.D. they offer on Netflix and not the 100% La Haine.)

I made the mistake of blind watching that in theaters... it's in the top 5 worst movies I've ever seen. On the bright side the theater was completely empty so my friends and I got some good laughs in

Watching a really bad movie like that can be great fun. I remember some friends and I sharing a lot of unintended laughs watching Sliver in a cinema some 20 years ago.

As for Babylon A.D., I believe I inexplicably owned the DVD at one time. Briefly.

Neighbors. Was in the mood for something in the 90 min range and silly. It was by no stretch a particularly good movie, but it had a number of true laugh out loud moments. Id say its not a bad watch if you want some asinine humor that will get a good laugh out of you.

Was watching Runaway Train last night but fell asleep. Will power through it tonight.

was reading another one of podhertz reviews this time about The Other Woman. The man can be overly critical and overbearing at times but he does have have unique perspective and is usually on the money (atleast most of the time). In this review he highlights Leslie Mann's filmography and drops this gem:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Apatow featured her again in Knocked Up (2007), in a dazzling send-up of herself as a sharp and brittle former-party-girl-turned-L.A.-mom—and then as an overly dramatic former actress in the brilliant Funny People (2009), the most underrated movie of our time.

to which i say hell yes. Funny People got canned by too many critics and still has a relatively low rating on imdb and rotten. FP is a gem of a filmif tere is any problem with it, it would be the running time. can feel like youre watching back to back films

The trilogy is still great.
